Nice piece I picked up from Goodwill. Says it was done by Lavi G. Called the Western Wall. I'm new to the art scene and just have been picking up what I like. Thank you.

That is the way to do it. You can't go wrong if you collect something because you like it.

Interesting piece. I like the colors and how the artist outlines objects.

That is an acidic mat, you can tell because it is turning brown where it is cut. If the piece is an original, I would put a piece of acid free paper between the mat and the work. That is what I do when the mat must be kept.

kwqd.....I think the mat is just thicker and cut that way. I believe the brown is in the inside of it. I dont believe it turned that color. I am going to check into that though. Thank you

      I love this painting!
You have mis-read the name of the painter though…..it’s Javi G, an Israeli artist.
The Western Wall in Jerusalem is sometimes called “the Wailing Wall”.
      I recognized the scene immediately.
The J in the signature does look like an L, so it’s understandable that you mistook it.
      I hope this helps you!
