A little timer with a rooster mark inside. Twist the face to wind. 1 to 12 hour
Who knows what this is and what it is used for???

Question for clarification: is the brass colored mechanism(s) in the 2nd pic what is *inside* the silver colored case, or what is on its unseen (back) side?
The mechanism is very similar to an early 20th century German alarm clock I have.
2nd Pic on lower left side under that plate, I see something stamped, ends with a E? What is the rest?
