This is another lingering item recovered during Mom & Dad's 'downsize' awhile ago. Its just a simple 2pc wooden ruler, each of its 12"(+ a little) pieces joined with a little metal ferrule so it can swivel around to a total two foot (+ a little) length. Also one more (now my own) thing that I sorta remember always being around Mom & Dad's house somewhere (kitchen drawer, etc) when I was a kid growing up -- and it was already "old" then...but anyways... It has its measuring scale on one side with logo/etc, and larger logo along with a handy list of "KITCHEN MEASURES" on its back. A few of those 'units of measure' and that it includes "refrigeration" as a thing SKELGAS could do (but does *not* include a telephone number...?) would lead me to guess it might be ~1940's-ish, I don't know that for sure either.
SKELGAS was a supplier of 'propane/bottle gas' active in the midwest USA (1970's) because I also remember seeing SKELGAS trucks running around doing their thing as a kid...a little (very quick) googling just now suggests they still might be in business, and likely have been so in some form since the early 1900's. (affiliated with SKELLY oil/gasoline then, I suppose, if not now?)
My gratitude to: fortapache, Horseradishman1, officialfuel, hunterqlee, buckethead, Brunswick, yougottahavestuff, & Trey for your <love its>!! :-) :-) :-)
