    So this is the 2nd posting of by vintage button finds. The first were the glass buttons and now my metal. Some have makers on back and once again, I know nothing about dating. I do know that some of them are old and I need to know if I should clean them. I do believe that some are Military, not sure.

      1890's-1920's. Yes, you have Military, police, transit - and other official uniform buttons. We have CW experts that might chime in on those.

      I also have buttons similar and I don't clean them until I use them in a jewelry or sewing design. You can use a dry toothbrush or rub every button with a cotton t-shirt and then store them in little separate plastic bags - leave the top open so they can breathe. If you seal them, they may sweat and then rust or oxidize w/green verdigris. You could attach them to cardboard button cards where buttons don't touch.

      You have some really cool buttons there. Do not clean them with any chemicals. Wipe them gently as some are quite lovely and older
