This is an old forged spatula of some kind. Made to hang on a hook. I'm not sure what it's for, but probably cooking. I bet someone on CW knows something about it. i hope...

Might well have been used in a bee hive oven to remove stuff and equally well might have been used to clean out clinkers and hot embers. You didn't provide dimensions but looking at it I would give priority to being used in the bee hive oven to remove bread, bean pots etc. Normally one for ashes, coals, clinkers etc. had rolled up sides.

thank you fhrjr2. it is quite small for use in a regular sized oven. it is 15 inches long and the paddle/scoop is only 3 inches wide.

      A tad more shovel looking?

thanks Gillian. I think if it were a shovel or scoop of sorts, it would have a curved bottom or sides to hold something in. I'm pretty certain that it is a spatula of some kind.
