I know very little about this elegant, superb vase. I bought it from a private person who said it was an art nouveau vase. I think it's rather art deco, isn't it? What is certain is that it was brilliantly made of solid transparent glass with cobalt blue overlay, polished in 14 dished facets that produce an astonishing optical effect. I think it's quite probably bohemian glass.

The only clue I have so far is the hallmark engraved on the rim: crescent/crown/925/HB (in ligature), which corresponds to Hermann Behrnd, (a silversmith established in Dresden as early as 1881), who was the refiner of the vase. But who the designer and the manufacturer were remains a mystery to me. In any case, it is an outstanding, absolutely pristine art glass work.

Looks like Bohemian cut to clear. But then there are initials I can't quite make out. I have a similar piece without the silver on top that is made in Romania by Godinger. So, not positive, but it's very pretty!

Thanks a lot, shareurpassion, for your kind comments! I wasn't able to see your similar piece, but I'm going to search on the internet for more. Have a fine day!

Anyway, the marks on the rim match to the Dresdener silversmith Hermann Behrnd, my doubts are just about the glass manufacturer.
