Hello everyone!!
Here's a vintage cast iron Dachshund doorstop that I've had for a while. I've seen this fellow as a boot scraper, but never as a doorstop, until I found this guy. He's a two piece design held together with two screws. He weighs 12.6 lbs and measures 16" long and 5 7/8" at his tallest point. His front paws have a 6" spread and rear paws have a 5 3/4" spread. I have no idea who the maker of this fella was or how old he is.
There are many reproductions of the boot scraper version and I happen to own one of those as well. The reproduction, that I own, is several inches shorter, has only one screw and weighs much less than this guy.

My reproduction, of this one, sits outside our backdoor. He gets used as a boot scraper. I keep this fella inside and out of the way. I definitely don't want to stub my toe on this guy:)
