So many details I wanted to share that exceeded the allotted picture quota on my previous post....
To Lala, tell your wife to just use her imagination and let odds and ends inspire her creations as she works in her dollhouse.
In picture 1, The blue birdhouse post is a paintbrush handle. The hanging birdhouse was part of an odd-ball item I got at GW for about a dollar.

Picture 2 Above the fireplace are 2 silver frames that were empty for years because photos in them would be ridiculously small. However, 5 minutes with my watercolors and I had 2 pieces of “original modern art” to hang there!

Picture 3. I hope Awesomnonyous sees this and recognizes his own dresser he recently posted! I took apart and embellished a piece of furniture that I bought so I could create a near-replica of my mom’s dresser for her.
The horizontal mirrored surface lifts up to reveal a hidden compartment.
The Holy Bible was always present in a conspicuous place.
The jewelry box houses an assortment of bling.

Picture 4. Since the original windows were missing/broken by my grandson and the Army combatants, I decided to upgrade to some girly cheerful stained glass windows.
The saying on this one epitomizes the ways of my parents in their respective early lives and their married live together after WWII.

This house sits on a pedestal table which I fitted with a turntable so the house doesn’t have to be handled/jostled to see it all around.

All the shingles are cedar and individually applied.

In the previous post, I forgot to explain the silver birdcage with a tiny blue bird inside it on the front porch.
Someone gave my sister and me such a bird in a cage—we were maybe 4 and 6 years old and so my mom was responsible for changing the water, cleaning the bottom of the cage and sweeping the seeds it flung out on the floor.
Before long, she declared the bird needed fresh air so put it on the porch just as we were leaving to go somewhere.
When we got home, the cage wires were bent open and the parakeet was gone. She surmised that “a raccoon” had bent the cage.
My sister and I still swear she was lying to us!
So yet another parallel of my dollhouse with my real life. ;-D

At some point I want to post my very elaborate Victorian Painted Lady dollhouse, a wooden pirate ship “action figure” house, and a hollow tree trunk woodland creature house.

    Thanks for looking!!

Lata, I am honored by your compliment! Plus, you taught me a new term. I’m so glad you enjoy my tiny work.
In picture 3, that framed photograph hanging above the dresser is of my parents as newly-weds in 1947.
I love keeping it real but on a tiny scale!
How has your wife’s dollhouse progressed?
