Iam looking for informaton on this piece found in Otero County, New Mexico. It weighs about twenty lbs. I know it is a morter and pestel, but would really like to know any history or how I would find more information.

Look up the Native American people [pueblo] from the area where you found it. There's probably lots of info about them. this does look like an acorn grinding stone to me.
There are no puebloan Native American tribes in Otero County, they are located in northern New Mexico, and are believed to have moved there from even farther north, in the 1100/1200s.
The only Native American tribe in Otero County today is the Mescalero Apache, who migrated into the area from what is now Canada, between 1100 and 1500 AD.
The culture that lived in this area previous to that, was the Mogollon (300 BC to ca. 1150 AD.)
So it's unlikely you will be able to find out any history of these items. Archaeologists can sometimes date items from soil samples taken from where an item is found, or with association of the style of other items found in the same strata, but once it's removed from the site, that history is lost.
(And I wouldn't recommend looking for more, unless it is on your own property, or in a museum.)
You have a grinding bowl with a pestal used for grinding corn herbs and grain some can be used in medicines as well very nice piece and love the complete piece without the pestil it would be just a grinding bowl they are made from the same stone and needs to stay together i just found my grinding stone with the grinder made from the same stone thank you for sharing
