I found this jewelry tucked into a cache in the stairs oh our old family home built before 1850s. That was Prior to when it was sold. I am 72 and I was a young child. I have no idea which family member may have owned this nor how it came to be there.

I don’t mind providing comic relief, Valentino, but I like to be in on the joke.....so if you have a minute, please tell me what the joke is ....

I have a question about the ends of the strands of beads.....do the end pieces screw together as fasteners?
What do you think they are made of?
Lovely beads...and so realistic, I can almost smell the fragrance!
      What a nice find!

Thanks! Yes, there is a little hollow in the ends of the beads that connect so the ends of the string can nestle there and the 2 pieces still screw together.
On Etsy I saw a set that had silver clasps instead.

TexasGalTreasures on YouTube has some videos on identifying bone vs ivory vs celluloid. I think the beads are bone, but I need to borrow a stronger magnifying glass from my daughter and probably watch her video again.

Her video says she has a FB page called Jewelry Lovers and Sellers but I have not been there.

I felt like Nancy Drew when I found them. I still wear mine from time to time.

I’ll try to watch those also. I think I would prefer your type ends because they are interesting, plus hidden!
