I picked up this (unsigned) wooden sculpture of a 14 1/2" tall thin boy with leaves on his head today and I was amazed at the fine detail. This piece of art looks to be museum worthy to me.
It was one of those things that I don't need but couldn't leave the thrift store without it. Since posting this carving, I have learned that it might be made in Indonesia and it does look much like a 1930's-1940's carving that is posted on the internet.
I wish that I could capture the fine details more closely.

Indonesia for sure. Probably from Bali.
He doesnt have leaves on his head but a batik headdress.

Thank you both and I am convinced that y'all are correct.
It looks much like an example that I found "Kneeling balinese woman made by I RODJA.
      1930-1940"
