Here's a drawing in brown ink by German artist Ferdinand Kobell (1740-1799). He studied law because his father wanted him to, but he prefered to become an artist and so he did. He roamed around the city he was born in, Mannheim, and made a lot of sketches which he used in his studio as material for etchings and paintings. This drawing shows harvesters having a break. Signed F. Kobell 1770. 16.8 cm x 15.2 cm. He only left Mannheim three times. He was twice in Munich and once in Paris. He didn't like any of these cities and prefered his hometown Mannheim. You can see what he looked like. From my collection.

After looking at the artist's portrait, be glad you didn't get a self-portrait. LOL ! Luv old paintings & etchings.

Artists are well known for putting their features in their paintings. Didn't do it much harm. LOL !!
