Something new and exciting! A Boy Scout Pennant. This one has the classic "do a good deed daily". Scouts helping elderly women cross the street. In the cartoons the scout would get hit with an umbrella as the woman did not actually want to cross the street. I am certain there are a few other good deeds that could be done. Sadly as a union employee I am not allowed to do good deeds unless I am paid and then it is not actually a good deed. I think I will pass on a time estimate for this but it is vintage as it has felt patina. Well it looks vintage.

Next up is a Brooklyn Boy Scout Marksmanship Program patch. This is a bit easier to date as it has no plastic backing and is neatly stitched at the border. Early patches have rough edges and later patches have a plastic backing so I will go with 1960s on this. Patches like this and camp patches are worn on the right pocket. These are the only type of patch that can be traded.
Got an excellent little car coming up for Matchbox Monday so stay tuned!

One can only imagine what the Commie Mayor of NYC de Blasio would think of Brooklyn boys learning to handle firearms. Back in the day a lad could carry his rifle to practice openly on the subway. Today the system would shut down and a Swat Team would see to it that the kid's final record would read: Suicide by Cop.

These are some cool Scout items. Like Fattytail said the marksman patch is politically incorrect in New Yawk these days and appeals to me even more. I'll bet Deblasio really hates the Scouts, they're polar opposites on everything.

Thank you very much fattytail. Don't think this one could be worn in public there now.

Thank you very much Toyrebel. There is a slight possibility that the political incorrectness is the reason I bought it. Got to push the envelope a bit now and then.
