This is a tiny tear drop or poison holder or something else that is silver with a cross and stone. The top opens and you can put something tiny inside of it.
I'm not sure what this really was made for but it looks quite old and fancy. My aunt had it at her house and we found it in her desk.
Any ideas?

I think the cross speaks to a religious purpose.
