I don't think I have ever posted this much in such a short while...
Found this vintage plastic thing in a jewelry box at an antique shop. Don't know what it is. I'm thinking it might have been a part of a hatpin? Maybe of celluloid? Any ideas are welcome. The shape is a bit snakelike. It is about 11 cm long. Plenty of nice rhinestones.

It might be for holding a lady’s hair in place when it was twisted into a bun.

Watchsearcher thanks for respons and idea. I have long hair and will try to use this later today the way you describe it :) but looking at the piece I see two tiny small holes on the back in they must have been for something so we will see if there are more ideas...

I agree this would be a hair pin - possibly there is another piece that would go with this.

Thank you RickmondLori! I think you are right. If I can't use it I can always have it as a rhinestone "stach" if I need to mend another piece of jewelry. But it is also a god idea to decorate my hairbun with it. Thanks to both of you :)
