A Moshe Oved Silver ring with sapphire eyes. I have been looking for one of these rings for ages and while scrolling through the web I came across this beauty. I remember Bluboi putting a ring by him on CW several years ago, ( I shall put the link below) I always admired it.
I was looking for one 0f his rings, but never came across one, so I gave up and forgot about it. Several Years later I came across this, I’m pleased has punch. Apparently he never marked any of these rings because they are so recognisable, they are.
The detail of the Marabou Stork is truely amazing I’m in ore, it’s very heavy and it looks like a miniature sculptor.
A little about Moshe Oved. He was born in Poland In 1885 and emigrated to the UK in 1902. In 1938 he became the owner of a celebrated Bloomsbury antique shop, Cameo Corner, near the British Museum.
His first ring was a lamb, made from the silver of Oved’s own cufflinks, after he learnt that a client’s son had been killed in action. The ring was made during the blitz in London. I shall put another link on below if you are interested in reading up about him.
Many thanks for looking
