    Just picked this 12" Doorstop up. I believe its Judy of Punch & Judy. It appears to be brass cold painted with lead filled base. Anyone know maker ? Age ? Thanks I Love it.

      That does look very much like Toby the Dog of Punch and Judy, with his characteristic ruff :) My English-born husband, who grew up with P&J, thinks so too. Here's an example:

      As for the other figure, hmm... most of the Judys I've seen wear a long dress, whereas this figure looks to me much more like a man dressed as a Roman soldier, right down to the sandals. (The photo you uploaded is too small to be sure, but if that's a laurel wreath on his head, that would support my hypothesis.) Could this be a Punch from a very specific comic sketch, I wonder? Or one of the secondary characters of P&J?

      For what it's worth, Punch is often shown as wearing a short type of pleated "skirt" over pantaloons, so again the skirt doesn't necessarily mean the figure is female.

      Anyway, those are just my not-very-expert thoughts. Hopefully someone will come along who can provide real expertise :)
