French talosel Fish Brooch by Monique Védié (Line Vautrin student) - 1950's-60's

Monique Védié was born in the 20's and has been a student of Line Vautrin in Paris, where she learnt her famous talosel jewelry process. When she established her company, Védié designed cellulose acetate jewelry, with rich colors, mostly fruits and flowers. The aspect of her pieces was very similar to Vautrin's work. She worked with many famous designers, including Ungaro, Lanvin and Dior.
Monique Védié retired in the 90's and sold her company, but the manufacture is still in activity under the name of "Ciléa Paris".
The 1950's patented term" Talosel" is an acronym for "aceTAte de celluLOSe Élaboré" (Elaborate Cellulose Acetate).
