I know this is in bad shape, but if anyone can tell origins and approximate age that would be amazing. I’ve been looking at previous posts and have an idea now, but would like more info - thanks!!

I have two, bowls with this motif. It was created by Nampeyo, Hopi, beetle symbol, what you have left is the front half of the beetle. Still, a fantastic piece of art and history.

not a problem, I stumbled upon this. The wear marks are part of the story, history, like with wood, gives it patina. My guess it got wet, possibly somewhere someone planted a plant in it, sad but could be true, and the organic paints wore off. Also, there were two almost mirror images that circled the pot. Enjoy it.
