Another exciting merit badge book! This one is on rowing. One of the first chapters is on the importance of rowing. It is highly effective in using a row boat.
It is not a particularly visual book so not much really scan worthy. I scanned two pages on basic rowing. Probably handy for one who wishes to be on the rowing team.
The section on swamped and capsized boats seems helpful. Most people would think to abandon their boat were it to start leaking or tip over. But it is pointed out that such boats tend to retain their buoyancy and continue to float. So swimming away from them would be worse than staying with the boat.
Wrapping it up are a pair a Steve Scout figures rowing their canoe. Not sure if they read the book.
