English pressed glass vases / baskets. Probably made by Davidson or Sowerby in late 19th century. No registration marks. Sometimes known as blue pearline. Nice opaline vertical ribbing. Moulding is superbly clean and fresh and I think they would be from an early production run as the moulds would suffer wear and tear later from the heat of the furnace press therefore resulting in untidy unwanted projections and flaws. Height at top of the handles is 7.5 cms [3 inches] and 6 cms wide at narrowest part of mouth which is elliptical in shape.

Thanks, Jenni. Whether it's blown or pressed glass, looks interesting and has some age to it, I try to add it to my collection which began over 40 years ago. I love collecting the opalescent blue and vaseline yellow items made by English firms in the last 15 years of the 19th century. I still have some more examples that I'll put up for show soon. I hope you will also enjoy seeing them. Peter
