Found this coin, did an internet search and I believe it is a 12 arrow version of the 1800 draped bust. I know nothing about coins at all and don’t have money to pay someone just to tell me this is some kind of fake. If it’s real I guess that could be cool as it would have a little value if I knew anything about selling coins. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Well let’s see I am only looking at a picture
      it’s an excellent condition
so where you found it tells me a lot
222 years old,, you would expect to see
a scratch unless it was wrapped correctly
I guarantee this didn’t travel in somebody’s pocket
      for 222 years

Well, the picture must be quite deceiving, because I wouldn’t say it’s anywhere near mint condition. It is quite worn, and was really tarnished when I found it I simply cleaned it up with some silver polish, although I’m assuming that might be a bad idea as it might cause damage or what not.

try a magnet if it sticks it`s fake for sure. (if it doesn`t, it might still be fake.)

      Good looking coin.
Please for the future , don’t ever “clean” your possible treasures.
      Hopefully it’s legit.
      Good Luck

      Hi, jarichardusa. :-)

What clockerman told you is good advice.

About the 1800 draped bust with twelve arrows dollar coin:

      https://www.usacoinbook.com/coins/3080/dollars/draped-bust/1800-P/12-arrows/

FYI, I'm no expert, but it looks a bit iffy to me.

      Hi again, jarichardusa.

To clarify what I meant by "iffy": some of the details in the images of your coin don't look right to me when I compare them with online images of genuine 1800 draped bust with twelve arrows dollar coins.

It could mean your coin is counterfeit, or it could mean simply that the coin is quite worn.

At some point, you'll probably need to seek out expert assessment, but first you should try the easy and inexpensive test suggested by sam66: the magnetism check.

After that, you should check the dimensions and weight. The specs are at that first website I linked.

Some wear on it but not the kind of wear you would see even through a gentle passage of time !~

authenticity first then the wear , and if you don,t know incertain you take ANAC or a NGC comparison,
