Larger than usual shovel. Was told NYC workers used these for snow removal before they had plows for the streets. Can't find any evidence to support that claim. I think it's too big for snow, too heavy to lift. Any other theories?

      Good one blunderbuss
I believe I used these monstrosities while shoveling snow on ParK Avenue in NYC back in the late 1970s. We made good money as it was the weekend and on overtime we made close to 20 bucks an hour. Union Job, of course. I was just a 17 year old kid so it was decent dough.

The shovel is way cool, but I gotta admit the signs in the background caught my eye first...

Thanks for the replies. 70's vintage sounds about right. No snow to shovel this year! New York and New Jersey guys of course love the signs in the background!
