The Makuzu Kozan studio kiln went on for almost 75 years creating several styles which Fuki-e was one of them. Fuki-e (blow painting) with a small screen or fine mesh by blowing through the screen trying to imitate the shading and the atmospheric washes seen in paintings by using paper cuts or stencils to hide sections were the glaze is not wanted. Measurements are 8” X 4” and approximate date is 1900.

this is MOROTAI style a bit hard to explain , lets define ia as as FOGGY style, and the differene in shading of the cobalt altough not so prominent in the piece find his origin in the FUKI-E application

      very nice and expinsive
