Antique Clawfoot chair that converts into a chair with seat storage

Hi, I have beeen helping a friend of mine clear out his storage unite and this chair that turns into a child’s desk with storage under the seat and claw feet one one of the items that he no longer wanted I thought it is so cool so he gave it to me I’m trying to do some research to help identify the type of wood and age if anyone viewing/reading this knows anything or wants to leave a comment please do below.
