This is the cab unit of the locomotive I posted yesterday. This would be the control unit which could control multiple locomotives. Once again this is a 2000hp locomotive with 6axles. I think this may have been the longest of the passenger locomotives with its long nose. The nose section has restroom facilities and this one looks like it has room for more as it has the longest nose of a locomotive I have seen. But it does have trucks very far forward. It is much longer than the B unit. It was a high speed locomotive geared for passenger service.
My next plan is to set up the whole train. I have a nice sheet of plywood for that.
As I recall, this locomotive was just a tad shorter than the famous E series, made by EMD. Both had two engines, but these Alco locos weren’t very reliable, and quickly ended up being scrapped. There is only one of these still in existence, in the US. It was just brought back here from Mexico, where it had been sitting in a scrap yard.
