Hello everyone!!
It's a rainy Sunday morning here in the Bluegrass state, so I thought I'd take a moment to post another of my many match holders. This one depicts a child (possibly a putti) straddling an old bucket. It was made sometime during the last quarter of the 19th century, possibly even earlier than that. The child is very nicely detailed from his head to his toes and I love his expression.
You'll notice the striker plate on the base of the sculpture. It's made of grey metal and mounted on a beautiful onyx base. It still retains a large portion of it's original paint and still looks great for it's age. I cleaned it the best I possibly could and polished it afterwards. This one measures 5 7/8" tall and the base measures 3 3/4" in diameter. It weighs 1lb 8oz.
Thanks very much for taking the time to stop in for a look!!!
