A junk shop find, this is a Victorian pub rummer or ale glass, I think from around 1850-1880. It has lots of striations, bubbles and a tool mark on the rim. What drew me to it was the strong amethyst colour which is due to either too much manganese in the glass mix or a long exposure to bright sunlight. It is 5" tall and a density test indicates it is lead glass. It is difficult to identify a maker. Third photo taken under 365nm. UV light.
