This is a very early J.B. Hirsch (formerly D.A.V. NY-ART) piece she appeared two ways one playing castanets and one with a beer stein raised high.
The first time I came in contact with her she was part of a bookend set the other was ornate also he played a lute. I bought the case without the movement and the one in it now is quartz. Hirsch's early pieces are often marked "D.A.V. NY ART," or just "JBH".
Her arm is broken off so I don't know if she was playing castanets or raising a beer stein, in this draped pose it was probably a beer stein?

Very Art Deco. 1930s ?
