This Bed was left in my grandmother's home by the previous owners. It was my fathers bed as he was growing up. It then became my bed as I grew up. It was manufactured by the John Widdicomb Co. Grand Rapids . It is made of Quartersawn oak (Tiger oak) in 1900. I have been trying to get the value , but have not found anything compareable.

Nice scrool work on the head board,I have a tall dresser with marble top and mirror that has simular scrool work. Not sure of the age,we live in Michigan and around the turn of the century there was quite a few furniture makers here. Also at that time period a lot of shipping being done from manafactor to buyer by rail.

John Widdicomb co. was an upper price range furniture manufacturer. I dont know if they still exist. Your bed is beautiful and should command a high price if youre selling.

Thank You. I believe the Widdicomb Co. closed in 2002 after 105 years.

My goodness. My wife and I had the exact bed for years. Sold it for about $500 15 years ago!
