Big Game in China, In Chongqing, (Biggest City in the world), 34 million a few years ago! Bigger than USA biggest 10 cities! Probably more people there than Australia! (not sure), My hotel was overlooking there Central Park. Lots of people playing Mahjong at tables in the Park. I returned home and took lessons. It is a fun game. This bracelet I got because no one else wanted to bid and it looked like Ivory, I also saw on the internet that bakelite Mahjong bracelets were around $65-$95. Well I got this for I think around $15 and no more than $20. I did pin test and it is not bakelite. The pieces are 5/8 inch long. 15 pieces total. Very colorful!! Any information appreciated. Don

Hi Don - This is a current bracelet. I've seen many examples at gemfaire, Tucson, swapmeets. I have one exact same size. I wear it with an oriental-style charm bracelet - looks lovely w/dangly baubles. There's a lot of fake bakelite mahjong pieces on ebay, but if you don't pay too much for them it's a fun item w/interesting history. I've been to Chongqing too. I think that's where we boarded our Yangtze River cruise. I will go back - it was so amazing.

I took the river cruise also! I took old Chinese boat with All Chinese tourist except for two young French and two young Aussies! It was 5 nights 6 days up to damn and back! thanks!

Yes - you know what I'm talking about! You had a great cruise! We were on a big boat but it was so wonderful. I have a lot of pictures. I enjoyed that most of our trip - hard to admit because I loved Terracotta warriors, Great wall, Li River and Forbidden City (MOST of the most!). Oh it was such a wonderful trip - my boyfriend treated me for my 50th. I still rave about it and thank him. Good food, only complaint: haggling for treasures - and water, beer were room temperature. No wine either. I loved this trip! In Chongqing I remember a nice strand of light aqua 16mm jade beads ...I wanted to buy but couldn't afford. I took a lot of pictures and researched stuff when I got home.

The dam was very interesting - and on the way you saw some tombs in the limestone walls?
