This morning I got up and went garage saling and I didn't find a thing in Brownsburg. So as I was driving around town I went by the house I use to own. I saw the lady cutting the grass that I sold the house to. I stopped and ask her how long ago did she buy the house off me and she said 28 years ago. I ask her if her neighbor Louie was still living and she said yes that he was 95 years old. I hadn't seen Louie in over 20 years. So I went up to the door and he answered and said hello. I told him I use to live next door and he remember my name. I went in and we talk for about an hour. He wanted to go sit on the front porch and feel the sunshine on him. As we were sitting there he was telling me about the drugstore he owned in Indianapolis at 30th and Illinois. It was called Murdock's Drugstore. I told him I retired about three years ago and I love to collect gas station memorabilia and all kinds of signs and related items. This Ex-Lax thermometer was just sitting there by the couch. He said that was brand new and it was never hung at the drugstore. He sold the drugstore years ago and said he was always going to hang it at his house but he never did. He looked at me and said you can have it. I ask are your sure and he said yes. I thank him over and over and shook his hand and gave him a hug and thanked him again. What an awesome gift that I will always cherish and remember my friend Louie. I went home and hung it on the back porch for everyone to see when they come over. The thermometer is in excellent shape and is porcelain. The dimensions 36" x 8 1/4". Notice there are five colors.
