Hand carved wooden monk

The third photo gives you a good idea of the height of this carving. It seems as though he originally held something in his hands but it could also just be a sign of prayer. It hasn't been easy to find other examples like the monks in our collection, and I've joked with my mom about the possibility of her having ALL of them.
