"Faun"
Is a 13 inch tall original terre cuite sketch or maquette created by the
Hungarian Sculptor Ferenc Varga who was working and living in Paris when this was produced.
I do not know if it was ever enlarged or cast in bronze. It is just a delightful little piece.
The Hungarian Museum has many large pieces in their collection.
He later moved to the US and his son and grandson run a sculpture studio in Florida. There are lots of photographs of his works on there site along with his life story.
Thanks, I did see those as well. Maybe I will contact his son. Let me know if you find any bronzes.
I love this Varga sculpture!!!
