    Booklet about Admiral Byrd's Antartic Expedition circa 1928. This booklet is filled with great photos! It originally was given away by the Tydol-Veedol Service Station in Greensburg, PA. It was published in 1930 by The Tide Water Oil Company manufacturers of Veedol Motor Oils- Tydol Gasolines

      Byrd, of course was not the 1st to reach the South Pole. Since living outside the States, I've found many instances where Americans try to make it sound as they were 1st at things, when it just isn't true. Great propaganda though! Won't get into it as it would just cause sided controversy.

      Yes, history books are NOT always correct. I think that the stories are interesting anyway.

      1928 was well after the first Antarctic pioneers but that doesn't discredit Byrd's efforts at all. This must be a fascinating read.....anything written close to the time of an event holds a certain mysticism to me.
