Sergio bought this beautiful bowl several years ago, so I do not remember to whom and for how much. We use it for tea dinners for almonds, from 1890 to 1910 salted almond were usually consumed during the high tea lunch. The hallmark is very difficult to catch so I did a digital microscope picture, you can clearly see the W.D cartouche for William Devenport, Northwood Street, Birmingham, Birmingham 1907 hallmark http://www.silvercollection.it/englishsilvermarksXWDUE.html
Interestingly while searching on CW I found this post http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/88955-sterling-silver-candy-dishes?in=365. Nuts arranged in the depression unpierced petal form a pretty flower
WOW! Yours is just like mine! Thanks for the link!
You are welcome and nice to see something similar on CW

I agree with you; it's really nice to see someone cherishes the same item:)
I am not sure if you saw this: it has been for sale for a long time. I think it is priced too high.

thanks freia. No I did not seen that and yes I paid much less than that price, the quantity of sterling silver is not much 45 g.
I bought mine on e-bay a few years ago. I am a bargain shopper most of the time, unless I really, really want something. I paid just a bit over the silver value for the pair:)
Beautiful set Silvia... I love them!!
thanks Rick...your comments are always welcome
