As I suspect many other collectors do, I sometimes pick up objects that don't especially go with my collections, but pique my interest. So here we are, a covered, very light weight fluted bowl with a decorated base and berry finial handle. The berry has some residual gilding. I at first suspected uranium glass, but it is a yellow stain to the glass. There is a rough pontil on the base. There is some wear on the bottom, but not as much as I would expect with an antique piece. The way the finial is attached causes me to wonder if it is original to the piece (maybe reapplied at some point?). It is about 6 3/4" at its widest. Any input would be so appreciated. I exhausted my research capabilities!
