    Collectoma…
    (68 items)

Here's something I've been collecting for some time now. The first issue of Prince George spruce dollars was struck in 1958 commemorating the Grey Cup parade that year. 5,000 where struck. The second issue was the 59 and 60. A total of 1,750 for the 2 years where struck and are rare in my opinion. From 1961 onward, several different dollars could have, and where struck for each year. One of the rarest, if not the rarest, is the 1961 Dominion High School Curling Championships in which only 100 where made. I have done my research, and a total of 94 issues had been struck from 1958-1975. These are the ones I've been trying to collect for several years now. I just bought the 1963 one about 3 months ago in a coin shop bringing my total up to 7 now. I have here a 58,61,62,63,65,67 & a '75. Some are in their original packaging. I found Mr. Pee Gee last summer which was an great find for me. His plastic hat and paint is in good condition and he's stamped Mr. Pee Gee on the bottom in green paint. I also have 2- 1957, which I call 'shingles'. These are unheard of and I'm the only one I know that has them. I believe these to be a pre-cursor to the wooden dollars as the Chambers of Commerce was brainstorming up an idea to promote Prince George. Shown in the pic is what each side of one looks like having 2. Prince George now has a population of 76,000.

From Mr. Pee Gee, " Thanks for the loves everyone ".
      Hi rusticross.
I like what you have collected. You have some good ones there especially the '66. What a great find. Anything interesting printed on it? Is the '72 you have a pic of Mr PG skiing downhill? I've never seen a '76 either. You should post it all. Hat or no hat PG is a cool dude. I've filled in a few blanks lately myself and have added a '70, '71, '72 and '73 to my collection. I'll update my pics asap. Happy hunting.

Think I will have to do a show and tell, cannot see were I could post photos in comments. Yes the 72 is Mr PG skiing, the 66 is a Centennial Issue 1866-1966 and has BC Dogwood Flower
