This aint your grandmas sign! ITS HEAVY!! ITS BIG!!! ITS OLD!!!! Ok, maybe it is your grandmas sign, but i guess i LOVE your grandma! Measuring 36" X 51 1/2" & double sided . Diamond Petroleum Co. out of Loisville Kentucky sold six service stations & a bulk plant to Sunray Oil Co. in the spring of 1925, & Sunray used the "Diamond" logo until 1932, when sientists at the Tulsa laboritorys developed an upper-cylinder lubricant for use in the co.s gasoline. The brand D-X was first used in 1933, but the history before 1925, i dont know.So i know this sign is (at least) 80 yrs. old, if from 1933, but im saying probably the 20s. The question for me is , how did it mount? Probably in a steel frame, due to the porcelain loss around all but the bottom edge. Strangely, the only (mounting) original holes are at the bottom,(below the "O" & "L" of gasoline, & the "R" in motor. Any thoughts?
