This is a Seth Thomas Ogee from around 1845-1850. The mirror and glass look original to me. I had to replace a pulley to get it running but now it's ticking away loudly. It keeps great time even if the gong is a bit jarring!! Neat to think that this clock was ticking away somewhere all thru the Civil War and even long before it...

I have a S Thomas Ogee like the one pictured here. What I would like to know is how the pullies are aranged. What type of pullies did it have when it was new, and how the string was aranged. I made some woodden pullies and it keeps great time. The alarm and chime works great also. If you have a diagram, or know how it was please let me know. Thank You Larry

Larry, Mine has small wooden pulleys on top of the clock at each corner. I bought my replacement pulleys online at I think it was timesavers.com for $1.00 a piece. The string was already in place over the old pulley so all I had to do was loop it over the top of the new pulley before I put the case back together if that makes sense.. If you google OG pulley I think you'll get a lot of the info you need.
