I know it must seem as if I dropped off the face of the planet, but I became swamped with schoolwork and didn't have time to post. Now that schools's over, I'm back and ready for more antiques!

Shown is a children's gramophone that was manufactured by Nifty Nirona (more specifically, Nier & Ehmer) in Beierfeld, Saxony, Germany in 1929 and sold in the 1930s. These small tinplate machines intended for children were Nirona's signature item.

Though this item is definitely not in tip-top shape, it still works, has its original decals, and has been slightly restored.

The following link includes pictures of a fully restored Nirona children's gramophone with its original box and included records: http://www.burchardgalleries.com/auctions/2013/oct2013/01images/l1220.htm

Neat. Never saw one quite like this.
