My father in law was metal detecting in Vermont and found this little treasure. aNY IDEAS ON WHAT THIS IS WOULD LOVE TO KNOW.

Looks like a powder compact for a woman to me ?
sorry on size reference i will double check but i believe he said it was the size of a half dollar piece perhaps slightly bigger there was no fragments of mirror within it because that was my guess too Manikin.
I agree with Manikin or could be a pill box.
Can you take pics inside and underneath.looks to be a pill box
If only size of half dollar I am thinking pill box als0 since you did not mentio size and need to see inside also :-)
maybe it held a face powder...white.or a rogue
it might have held just a mirror too.
