I got confirmation from the auction house early this morning. I am picking this flange sign up on Friday or Saturday. The three colour photos are from the auction house web site.
I have purchased (and sold) from this auctioneer before, but never a proxy bid. Took a little longer than I expected to confirm I won the sign. The sign is not mint and not worth the $750 that is shown in the Petretti guide (12th edition), but I think I did well at $365. That includes the taxes and absentee bidders fee. Most of the time this auction house does not have a bidders fee. For those new collectors, it is good to understand that your bid at auction will most likely have a bidders fee added to your bid, so calculate that into what you are willing to pay. I did some research and knew I did not want to go over $400 total.
I look forward to getting the back story of where the sign came from and how it got to auction.
Thanks for letting me share this. I am very happy!
