My father bought this about 40 or so years ago. I wish I had asked him about it before he passed away, but I didn't. I've included a photo of the mark on the bottom (my Dad added the felt). Can anyone tell me anything about this piece? I am not sure if I am listing this in the correct categories (arts & crafts, and figurines), but given the choices, I made my best guess.

      Is the base wood?

jllaw80, Hi, I know this is an older post, but just wanted to see if you ever found out who this piece was by, or did you end up selling it? I have almost the exact same sculpture, same signature and everything - looks like it could be an R leading into a J. ???? It’s very cool, just also wish I knew more about it. Thanks in advance for any info.
