    I think this must be Mexican. it's a bottle in the image of the Virgin - Guadalupe, i think. Lots of bubbles in it and you can see the large pontil on the bottom. The piece has a stopper and is about 12" tall.

      I think you are correct about it being Mexican. Recycled glass used, bubbles and that blue!

      Mexican - yes. Rows and rows of hand blown cobalt, specially in a store here in "eh" land (HomeSense). What do you think to date ho2? I think in some of the new pieces they put (leave) bubbles to make it look old.

      thank you racer, Gillian and Sean! i really don't have an idea as far as date. it doesn't strike me as particularly old, but the stopper is different from others i've seen. this one seems very large though.

      Beautiful bottle. This may be depicting the Virgen de Guadalupe although it doesn't have the usual iconography at the base. I think these bottles were used to carry holy water back in the day when priests traveled around to see their parishioners.
