I found this little vase this weekend and just liked the flowing handles. It looks like Art Nouveau to me. There was s second ewer for sale too. It appeared to be the matching to the one I bought but someone did an awful job gluing the broken handle back on. I didn't think it was savable.

The vase is very small; it is only 5 1/2 inches. There are some numbers on the bottom but I have no idea what they could mean. I believe that the was is European.

    Thanks for looking:)

Oh, I really like this vase, the way the handles twisted inside each other's.
      Congrats.

      Lovely vase !!!

What a pretty object! It could mean this is #44 out of so many of these vases produced. What else is on there? The photo is too light to be able to read it.

Thanks so much for all of your comments, Alan2310, SEAN68, and Efesgirl:) I am glad you like it.
The numbers are hard to read. 44 is painted on; then comes a /, 197, and below 50 - if I read it correctly.

Love it -- Full of fluid motion!!!

~ Is there letters on the bottom, or just numbers? Rub some ash over it to highlight them to show better ...maybe

@ freiheit -- I tried to help you. I tried to play around with the colors -- and you can see the bottom a bit better. Here is the link:

WOW! How did you do that, antiquerose? I still don't know what the numbers mean but I sure do appreciate your help!
      Thanks so much,
      Gudrun

@freiheit -- Thanks, Hope you did not mind. It is such a beautiful vase, it has to be a quality piece. It is okay I did that then -- as then I will leave it up for a bit and see if anyone can figure anything out!!

~ I love you piece -- I want to try to find an answer for you......so permission to leave that other post up then? Thanks
