My sister got this painting at a silent auction . She bid on it for the frame . But afterwards looking at the painting really liked it . A local artist thought it might be painted in Italy . Also she said the signature might be Sylvati . She thought this painting might have been done in the 1800's , she also thought it was pre Impressionism . Any ideas . Thanks

Maybe Giuseppe Salvati? He was an Italian painter, often painted fishing villages.

There are people walking along the shore , with long skirts on . You can see Brush strokes so I don't think it is a copy . There is a lot of detail that you miss at a glance .
