Pheasants are related to peacocks so it surprising a male pheasant would but on the same sort of display as a Peacock.
The usual pheasant is usually flying across the wall or walking to and fro in the taxidermy world. I bought this one as it was a bit unusual. That and it was $25. I didn't really need another piece of taxidermy but I couldn't help myself. A Rose Bowl find from three years ago.

I love using these feathers...you can keep the bird tho. haha. Another little story of mine is one of baby sitting...I guess I must have been 15 and went to these peoples house as a last minute thing to babysit. OMG, I got there and he must have been a hunter because they had all kinds of creepy animals watching ME the whole time! I couldn't wait to get out of there!!! Not something I favor...doll or animals on the walls ;)
