    Bought this along with the teapot at an auction. The tea pot is like ceramic and the picture is painted on a thin sheet of plastic. I thought these might be old but no idea nor artist signature.

      Love that hand painted frame , very nice ! The red clay pot is very nice too. You came away from the auction with nice pieces .

      Fifteen dollars I think I paid for the two! The frame is painted on the sides, too.

      The painting is Persian style. Could be from Iran/Iraq. Are you sure it's plastic? Many of these were done on ivory or bone. To test turn it over and you could do the hot pin test on a corner. If the hot pin doesn't melt or mark then it's not plastic.
