Something like this would be used on a farm for harvesting grain. It would also be for trimming. Seems like it would take a long time to harvest crops with this but I guess they worked. It's big brother the scythe is in the last photo.
What drew me to this is very simple feature. There is a hole in the blade to hang it from a wall or hook or some such. Worked well for me as I planned to hang it from a wall and it goes well with the scythe.

A simple but very efficient design. Its surprising how much work can be done with one of these in a day. Looks great hanging on the wall.
